Wedding Wednesday: Flower Inspiration

Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today is my BIRTHDAY! Also, today is International Women's Day, which is pretty darn cool too.

I'm just sitting down with a dirty martini after a wonderful day of pampering and errands, waiting for my sweet fiancé to get home so we can go to dinner. While I patiently wait for him, I've decided I should quickly write another WW since I've been doing a lot of wedding related activities these past few days.

This week, I began the process of creating inspiration boards / story boards for my wedding. So far, I've put together a page of images that I love for the flowers, ceremony, reception, cake, hair & makeup, and what the wedding party will wear. I'm sure I'll be making many more along the way, but these are just the basics! I'm hoping that having a visual diagram for every element will help keep my mind and thoughts organized during the detailed planning stages, and it will also be nice to give them out as a reference to vendors once we're making those final decisions.

I've realized during all this prep that I have a REALLY hard time explaining my wedding "colors." (That's a big question I've been asked recently, "what are your colors?"). I've come to terms with the fact that what's in my head requires a lot of colors and I can't really narrow it all down to a few shades or one quick solid answer. One of the easiest ways to show you my wedding "color story" is to show my floral inspiration photos! One thing I know I want is lots and lots of greenery. I also know that I want a gathered, whimsical, romantic bouquet with hints of blue, pink, and white flowers, but also lots of extra accent colors, with ribbons hanging from it! I've listed out some of the flowers I like, but I'm excited to talk to the florists to see what they have in mind. Have I confused you yet? Well I'll just show you...

(BTW, the image in the center of the top row is probably my absolute favorite! What do you think?)

  1. These are all stunning! We're going with the peony, garden rose, ranunculus theme and I can't wait to see how they turn out!
